I curated Google's first all-Latinx art show in Mountain View,CA, bringing together 12 artists with a range of titles across Google. The show opened during Hispanic Heritage Month 2017 outside of the renown Charlie's Cafe at Google HQ.

I built the outdoor "gallery" walls from 8ft fence sectionals propped up by stands I built in my garage. But this wasn't just because I had no budget. In art, context is everything. During this time, the newly elected Trump was on every channel spewing hate about Mexican's, immigrants, and asylum seekers alike. These fence sectionals were what my dad, a general contractor, called a "bad neighbor" fence – one side looked seamless and the other side had the unsightly scaffolding. What did our "fence", our border, say about us? What kind of neighbors were we being to Mexico and the rest of the world?

The title of the show, Sin Miedo, means fearless. It was a call to action to my fellow Latinx artists to stand in the face of Trump's rhetoric at that time and show up authentically, without fear.
